80 Connecticut World War II Veterans - Average age 91
Visit World War II Memorial In Washington DC on May 2nd
Join the 8PM Patriotic Homecoming at Bradley Airport

On Saturday, May 2nd, 2015, AmericanWarrior’s Day of Honor will send 80 World War II and Korean Veterans, 60 volunteer Guardians and medical personnel on a day trip to Washington DC, to see their Memorials for the first time, 71 years after the end of the war. This will be the eleventh trip with a total of 1130 Veterans sent in eight years.

Veterans from 30 Connecticut and 3 out of state communities will arrive at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks at 7:00 a.m. and then board a US Air flight into Reagan National Airport.

Upon arrival in Washington D.C. Veterans will receive a patriotic homecoming. The Veterans will then get a motorcycle escort to the World War II Memorial and lay a wreath at the Connecticut pillar in memory of those Connecticut veterans who were unable to see their memorials. They will enjoy lunch at the memorial and then visit the Korean, Vietnam, Air Force, Navy, Women’s and Marine Memorials.

The veterans will leave Washington D.C. and arrive back at Bradley at 8:00 p.m. The homecoming will include the Marquis of Granby Fyfe and Drum and hundreds of Connecticut Patriots. We invite the public to join hundreds of supporters and provide these heroes with the homecoming they deserve. “This is a once in a lifetime patriotic experience for families, students and friends. This will be the final time in Connecticut’s history that 80 World War II Veterans come home from a deployment. We must honor these heroes that average 90 years old”, stated Christopher Coutu.

This trip is free of charge to the veterans. Fundraising has been successful with the support of hundreds of citizens and organizations across New England. AmericanWarrior is an all-volunteer organization.
